1959 tax & MOT exempt Land Rover Series 2 two SWB 88 barn find 2 litre

  
I bought this as a project as it was just so original with a view to keeping it as a plaything but now things are busier thesedays I just can't get to it. So, I'm the 4th keeper since 1959!

I have the V5 in my name, it's SORN'ed and has a lovely number (819 BBJ). As for the mechanicals etc - when I got it the rear chassis was very rusty so I put on a brand new rear half chassis.

The rest of it is in great condition. The drivers footwell was just starting to get delicate so I have actually made 2 new floorpans (driver and passenger) and put them in.

It's also had a new fuel tank, new parabolic springs on the back and included (but not fitted) for the front. I also have a load of spares like ignition parts (new coil, HT leads, spark plugs), pins/bolts for the suspension, shock absorbers and a fan belt. But, the ENGINE RUNS BEAUTIFULLY so I haven't fitted any of that but they're there. The work required to finish.

Clutch and brakes are not working (Gearbox is fine). Rear lights need wiring up (fronts all work). New seats (I can include the orginals but they're not great). I'm more of a later Land Rover man but as far as I can see this has the 2 litre engine from the Series 1 but I'm sure someone can put me right. Definitely has the correct wheels for the period (small ones) and it's obviously a genuine series 2 and not a 2A. We are located 20 minutes from the A1 (Junction 17). Cash preferred or a cleared cheque. Obviously you will need a trailer to get it home.
