1960 Land Rover series 2 88 pick up Tax and MOT free

  
She was my daily driver until I needed more seats, so I started to do it up as a trials vehicle but due to ill health and worsening mobility I have had to abandon my plans and sell her to someone who'll get good use out of her! I know that the wings are series 3 - the originals were knackered and as I was going to use her as a trialler I just put on wings that I had in my garden! I have the V5 logbook and it is in my name. The previous owner fitted a Rover 3.5L V8 engine and auto gearbox.

He said that the heads had had work done, plus a fast road cam fitted. The engine revs quickly and the gearbox is currently running as 2 wheel drive (the front prop shaft has not been fitted and I don't have this).

The wiring in the engine bay is similar to spaghetti junction! You will need to fit a radiator and a battery. (I will be able to provide a battery to show it starting and running for viewings).

The brakes worked when I last drove her and they work when I move her around the garage, but she's not been driven at speed for a while so they would need to be checked before driving. The bulkhead is original but has had a lot of welding done to it and has had panels added - this has made it really strong.

The cab back window is unique - originally from a canal boat! This will need new seats, as the ones pictured are foam only - there's no frame to bolt them down. Although the other gauges aren't original, the speedo is. The truck bed is handmade and unique - metal frame construct and wooden side panels with galvanised chequer plating floor.

The rear of the chassis has been shortened by approx 4 as you will see in the photo. The chassis is very strong. She will need lights wired up (only the roof lights work). Both doors have been taken off so I can drive in and out of the garage.

The doors are included in the sale but you will need hinges. The wheels have got mud tyres fitted. In my opinion I would class her as a project vehicle just due to the odd bits that need to be reinstated (radiator, battery, seats, wiring up lights) and recommend trailering her away. I've tried to include as much info as possible, but if you've any questions, please ask.
