1962 Series 2a Land Rover TAX EXEMPT 88
For sale I have my 1962 Land Rover series 2a, I have owned this vehicle for 4 years and have thoroughly enjoyed working on it and driving it where I can. If I could keep this vehicle I would, but being a relatively young driver, the cost to insure myself is beyond a joke! When the MOT ran out in Nov 2016, I decided to SORN the vehicle and begin the restoration, which brings us to now. On bringing this classic back to life.
For a vehicle of this age (56 years) it has a sound chassis and bulk head which have required no work, I know this because I have had it stripped down to a rolling chassis and have had everything blasted and re-sprayed. Things that have been done.
Chassis and body sandblasted and re-sprayed (chassis-chassis black, body-bronze green and the roof/wheels-old English cream). 200 TDI 2.5 litre 4 cylinder diesel. 200 TDI clutch housing and starter motor. Parabolic springs fitted all round. Series 3 gearbox (syncro in all gears).
All new seals/rubbers on any joining surface. New window seals/channels/runners all round. 3 new deluxe leather seats.Deluxe series 2 rubber floor mats. Passenger/driver side floor pans welded in.
Window wiper motor, arms and blades. Washer jets, hoses, tank and motor. Newly refurbished standard steel rims plus a set of off-road tyres incase you were crazy enough to risk getting this landy stuck!
At the moment, it is a lightly restored useable classic which always turns heads wherever it goes. Listed elsewhere so reserve the right to remove.
