1971 Land Rover Series 2 a tax exempt 12 months mot

  

This is a 1971 series 2a land rover. 2 1/4 petrol engine, just had oil, oil filter, plugs, replaced. New headlights, side lights, indicators, rear lights. Very solid chasis, painted in chassis black.

Has a winch on the front, but ive never tried it. A servo has been fitted, so slightly better brakes. I bought it locally as id always quite liked them and thought it would be a good winter project, (i normally work on old vw's) this is the only land rover ive owned so im not an expert, ive welded a few so i know this one is better than the others ive seen.

Ive restored the bodywork and generally cleaned it up, drives like an old land rover lol, quite good really. The speedo doesnt seem very accurate. Ive only used it to move some logs to mine from my parents, so ive done very few miles and the prior owner was the same, he only used it locally, the milage says 81606. The prior owner said the prior owner had done a lot of work to it, but as im not an expert on these, i can only tell you what i have figured out which is that he has fitted a servo to the brake system and the doors might be of a defender or series 3 as they have up/down windows not slide ones!
