97,700 recorded miles, though this cannot be guaranteed due to the age of the vehicle. I have been fortunate enough to be the custodian of this remarkable vehicle for the last 5 year and has been utterly dependable in every respect.

It has very obviously been subject to comprehensive, thourough, and sympathetic restoration in its lifetime to remain this eminently useable vehicle on a daily basis. This Land Rover has obviously been kept to look as original as is practical. However it has been subtley improved with (where possible) genuine Land Rover OE parts as follows: The Heritage Certificate confirms this to be a RHD Home Market civilian spec model supplied to Henleys of London on 20 April 1959.

The Land Rover is fitted with a fully re-engineered replacement engine by ABRO (Army Base Repair Organisation). This is confirmed by the correct rebuild plate on the rocker cover and pale blue/green painted finish. This could be a later replacement engine though numbers match on the V5C registration document. (engine numbers are not recorded on the Heritage Certificate in any case). This also accounts for the very smooth running of the unit and exceptional oil tightness.

No oil smoke either, it goes without saying. Optional Fairey overdrive (I really wouldn't consider one without) servo for the brakes, free wheeling front hubs, period lucas electric screen washers and switch, two inertia reel seatbelts, lucas alternator conversion, easily reversible, though I wouldn't recommend it.... , working period temp gauge, rare steel sunvisor, original (and working) Smiths heater, bonnet mount for the spare wheel, discreet (under dash) power supply for your electronic gee gaws the sublime to the ridiculous! GE sealed beam headlights, Properly fused six circuit electrics.

Almost certainly has the original bulkhead again with no "repairs" The paintwork has been re-applied at some stage, and is NOT original and has various glitches all round. There is NO structural rust, (or repairs) in the chassis or degradation in the Birmabright outer panels. It is a completely viable, daily driver.

(Interestingly starts quicker than my "moderns" every time), Matching set of tyres all round with very good tread. I would recommend that you should visit me and inspect my Landrover in person on my home drive, or any other inspection is welcomed. I can arrange for you to speak directly to the mechanic concerned, who, in the nature of these cars in this area (Derbyshire High Peak) will be very straightforward and honest (plenty are still used day to day, which I would like to see continued ideally). Two sets of keys, British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate confirming build date of 15 April 1959, reprint of the original owners manual (plus on CD), Land Rover Series 11A and 11B Instruction Manual (Part No LSM 64IM), Haynes Workshop Manual, Series 2 Club magazines. Please do call me to discuss further, Phil on 07778 269190, and to arrange a viewing which I can be as accomodating as possible as to timings. Thank you for your attention. (This is the first advert for this vehicle though I intend to advertise it locally as well so reserve the right to end the listing early if it should sell beforehand).
