For sale through AB4x4s Cleveland on behalf of a customer is this rare opportunity to aquire a nice example of a Series 1 86 Land Rover. With only a mere 4 owners from new this. Was in deed the pride and joy of its owner for nearly 30 years until he unfortunately passed away late last year. He was a real Landy fanatic and set out to make this old girl live on forever. He did this in 2009 by rebuilding it onto a Marsland galvanised chassis with receipts to prove.

He then ordered a Galvanised bulkhead also with receipts to prove. I do believe at this time he fitted parabolic springs and replaced usual running gear to include swivels.

He fitted a later 2.25 engine which runs very sweetly, starting with ease. Engine does look very tidy and clean with signs that it really has been looked after. It is a hard top with windows in the sides allbeit cracked. It could very easily be converted to a soft top and we can do this for you at extra cost. Browsing through the nice file of history and receipts i noticed present were mots dating from 1993 up until 2013, last of which had no advisories.

As with all vehicles of this age and to give the new owner our honest opinion, there are a few points to deal with even though it can be driven as is. The only driving issue i came across was a noisy clutch, probably has not helped been parked up for 4 months. We can do this work at extra cost. Still drives fine through the gears and may become quieter. There is a non standard steering wheel and indicator/wiper system but this could easily be put back and we do have parts for sale here to do this.

Front seats are non standard but all seat brackets are present. We can order new seats at extra cost. Wiring in front of the passenger seat could do with tidying up and shouldnt take long.

As i said earlier both side windows have a crack in. I cant think of anything else really to say apart from if you are looking for a nice 86 that has had all the expensive work undertaken with no need to worry about rot and rust, then this is going to be one to consider. We can do all works to this vehicle you may require from just basic tidying up to a full body restoration. We are in fact doing 2 series 1s at present in our workshop.
