This listing is for a Single Genuine Land Rover Series 1 80 Hard Top Roof with Lifting Rear Tailgate. The views of these used parts shows their general condition, the images form part of the description. These are the actual parts which will be supplied. This is not a'home made' converted 86" or 88" Hard Top , it appears to be a genuine factory produced version built for the relatively short run of the 80 which I have interpreted here, as being 1950 to 1953. On offer is just the'Limestone' painted Hard Top and Tailgate , the Land Rover 80 to which it is seen fitted is not included.

A generally sound presentable Hard Top approaching 70 years old, in need of an external clean and with probably a fascinating history? It has had side windows fitted at some point (see images 7 & 10) the glass has been removed and covered over by a tailored pair of panels.

These are by quite professionally made and painted panels, which are fitted around the corner cappings, not underneath them, so removal would be easy, appearing to be secured by a few'pop rivets'. The original panels, have plenty of panelwork available to re-fashion new window openings, these are still in place underneath. There are two small fixed glass windows in the rear quarter panels and evidence that side lights/indicators have been fitted below these in previous times. The lifting tailgate has glass, a handle with mechanism (no key) and hinges as shown in the images. A quantity of suitable bolts with nuts will be required for re-assembly. I can provide no further information on the history of this Hard Top, nor part numbers or chassis numbers to which it may have been originally fitted. These are becoming quite rare and it is unlikely any budding entrepreneurs will find it viable to start manufacturing decent copies of these any time soon, I have no pressing need to sell this - so advise taking the opportunity whilst it is available - you decide. Viewing and inspection by seriously interested buyers only is recommended and welcome at a mutually convenient time by prior arrangement. Free storage ahead of collection.
