Land Rover Series 1 Project

  
This is a 1957/8 88 project Series 1 Land Rover. Condition is as can be seen from the photos. There is no V5 document with the vehicle, but the chassis number can be clearly seen on the chassis, and I've made enquiries through the LRSOC and DVLA to source a replacement age-related licence number, if not the original. The chassis has had work over the years (including a homemade, but solid, rear crossmember), and is in good condition. So it provides a good base for a rebuild. It has had new leaf springs, shock absorbers and brake lines. The previous owner fabricated his own bulkhead and rear body on the original chassis, to use as an agricultural vehicle on a small holding. The bulkhead is solid, but will need adapting if kept as part of the rebuild.

Full size doors (in place of the 80 ones fitted). Rear tub/backbody and tailgate (the rear offside quarter needs repairing). Transmission tunnel (floor pan can be fabricated from checked plate - also provided). Also included, but not fitted, is a 2.25 litre diesel engine with a later series 3 gearbox.

I would say the vehicle is 90-95% complete including items like rear bench seats in excellent condition, front grill for the radiator panel, etc. The 4th picture shows how the Land Rover looked previously with a series 3 radiator panel and bonnet. It now has the correct front panel and a couple of series 1 bonnets.
