LAND ROVER SERIES 2. Genuine 1960 model. Not 2A! 100% genuine and straight. Motd

  
Thank you for having a look..... 100% totally genuine 1960 Land Rover Series 2. Chassis number checks out 100% as a Series 2. If you zoom in on my interior picture you can see the brass plaque still in place above the central clocks that states Holoways Ltd, Worcester.

A fine piece of history on the vehicle. So, as you know these were only made for a few years at the end of the 1950s and stopping the Series 2 production in early 1960s. So a rare Land Rover.

Please study the pictures or come to view. Superbly straight and dent free. This old girl has been treated kindly. Mileage showing as 76,156 miles. I have no idea if this is correct or its been round. I do have 12 old mot certificates with the old gal and the earliest is from 1991 with the mileage showing as 69,026 miles. Chassis is in very very good condition. Original grey elephant hide seats fitted, but as you can see there are rips. Original push button start and she starts first time eagerly. Gearbox all good, brakes working well. Original horn still mounted in the correct position and working. 2.25 litre petrol engine. No horrible smoke on start up or whilst running. Rare cat-flap rear door fitted. Top stay/rod still in place. Bottom hinged door all good.

I honestly don't think this Land Rover has ever had a respray and that most of the paint is original 1960. I don't think you can find many Series 2 this unmolested. As I have clearly shown in my pictures the drivers side bulkhead will need work in time. The passenger side is fine, as shown.

Land rover must have been exported at some point in its life and then reimported back in 1996 as this is shown on the V5 as date of first registration 01/01/1996. It is registered as HISTORIC VEHICLE on the V5, no doubt the owner at the time contacting Land Rover to verify the year of build from the above letter. My reserve is a fair one. Chassis number details from Land Rover..... Series 2 models have the 9 digit numbering system.

The first digit on all Series 2 is 1. The second and third digits are 41. The fourth digit indicates the year of build. The remaining 5 digits indicate the serial number.
