No rust in evidence anywhere that I can find. Fold up rear seat on one side.
The spare wheel is bracket mounted inside. According to available records, originally petrol , this had a diesel at some point in history but the diesel has been correctly replaced with an original size 2 1/4 petrol engine. The current petrol engine is believed to have come from a later model of Land Rover.
This unleaded engine starts very reliably, pulls well, and was recently oil pressure tested with no issues. It runs very quietly at all speeds , smoothly and with no smoke and is very responsive to the newly fitted Weber Carburettor. Its tick over is spot on. Along with invoices and receipts for the recent work carried out.
There is included a British Motor Museum Heritage certificate showing its date of production and dispatch to a land rover dealership in 1960. I believe further history can be obtained via the DVLA and other sources. Everything is as you would expect of this type of vehicle, and of this age. My description and photos are as helpful as I can make them. This is an eye catching vehicle for having fun, along with down to earth practical uses, in rain snow or shine. Collection only from Hailsham, East Sussex.
