Land Rover Series 2 II 1960 88 SWB with current MOT & Tax and Mot exempt

  
This is a Land Rover Series 2 - 1960 - 2286cc petrol A great runner, and nothing urgent or major needing to be done. Two very small jobs need doing and I havent got round to them. This however will give the new owner a chance to get'under the bonnet' and out of the way of her indoors maybe! These are to fit a new fuel sender and a new choke cable........ I cant thing of anything else! Recent work carried out on the vehicle includes a. Brand new WEBER 32/34 DMTL carb fitted. Full Stainless Steel exhaust system. All oils have been replaced. New fuel sender as above^. New Aluminium Core Radiator and hoses. Engine fully timed and the carburettor tuned. Spin on oil filter conversion. 5 recent new 7.50 tyres with on/off road tread. Old headlamps have been replaced with new genuine Lucas units as the reflectors had deteriorated. An ideal investment, a general fun runaround, or off roader. It has a Hard top; parabolic suspension; Fairey overdrive; free wheeling hubs. No oil leaks or drips underneath. Resprayed Classic Land Rover Marine Blue a couple of years back.

No rust in evidence anywhere that I can find. Fold up rear seat on one side.

The spare wheel is bracket mounted inside. According to available records, originally petrol , this had a diesel at some point in history but the diesel has been correctly replaced with an original size 2 1/4 petrol engine. The current petrol engine is believed to have come from a later model of Land Rover.

This unleaded engine starts very reliably, pulls well, and was recently oil pressure tested with no issues. It runs very quietly at all speeds , smoothly and with no smoke and is very responsive to the newly fitted Weber Carburettor. Its tick over is spot on. Along with invoices and receipts for the recent work carried out.

There is included a British Motor Museum Heritage certificate showing its date of production and dispatch to a land rover dealership in 1960. I believe further history can be obtained via the DVLA and other sources. Everything is as you would expect of this type of vehicle, and of this age. My description and photos are as helpful as I can make them.

This is an eye catching vehicle for having fun, along with down to earth practical uses, in rain snow or shine. Collection only from Hailsham, East Sussex.
