Land Rover Series 2A 109 Station Wagon

  
I'm listing my Land Rover again. It's a genuine station wagon registered 21/09/1970 and I've owned it for nearly 2 years. It's very usable as it is but could benefit from some work, or would be a fantastic opportunity to restore. The chassis is good but the bulkhead needs some repairs, specifically to the door pillar and floor areas. There is also some corrosion in the bulkhead fresh air vent recesses. It has a Salisbury rear axle and freewheeling hubs on the front. The FW hubs are sticking in the free position so they either need a bit of fettling or replacing with regular hubs. It has a Nissan TD23 engine which pulls very well and is one of the reasons I bought the vehicle - I wanted a useable classic that could be used effectively for long camping trips and keep up with modern traffic, which this does well while still feeling like a proper Land Rover. The engine is suited very well to the rest of the transmission and I don't know why I haven't heard of more of these conversions. However, the original engine mounts are still in place so putting back to the standard petrol wouldn't be too much of a task. It also has an excellent working Fairey overdrive and and recently rebuilt gearbox.

I have a small pile of spares including the sill covers that aren't on it in the photos. I will consider sensible offers but will not give it away. If I can't sell it for the right price I'll keep it and do the work at some point in the long term future. It's a really lovely old thing and deserves that. Please feel free to ask questions.
