Land Rover Stage 1 V8 109. 93,549 miles as at 6 February 2020 however vehicle still in use.I'm sure this vehicle needs no introduction to those of you that have found this listing; factory V8 engine, permanent four wheel drive, upgraded chassis and gear box to cope with the 3.5l engine. This is a really straight, original example, now a very rare Land Rover model; I think I've seen one or two better ones for sale over the years but this has to be among the best preserved examples left. I've only ever used it as Sunday driver and for fishing and camping trips, I've never even green-laned with it.
As such it is in good condition, all panels good condition with no major bumps or scrapes. It still keeps up with modern traffic, stops in a straight line and everything works, including the courtesy light! Front seats are in 9/10 condition, just a small hole (never repaired doesn't need it) in the passenger seat.Back row are 8/10 but they don't need replaced; all original of course. Original middle row mat and back tub mat and bench seats present. Headlining in 9/10 condition too. All the hard work has been done on this vehicle; it still attracts a lot of attention, sounds fantastic and in my view needs nothing as a Sunday driver, shooting, fishing, camping vehicle. Scope for an enthusiast to take it to the next level too.
Original chassis and bulkhead (both of which have been repaired/patched over the years), it even has the original wheel wrench and hand starter located correctly in the rear tub. I have a small box of spare bits too which are part of the sale of course. There is a Fairey Overdrive, but I have never operated this so cannot give any indication of the serviceability of it. MOT until 3 January 2021. MOT this year needed a bit of wiring looked at and the choke cable released, nothing else required bar the usual oil leak advisories!Lots of paperwork and receipts, earliest MOT certificate in the file is dated 1986 (this vehicle spent its life on the South Coast before I bought it and drove it home to Scotland in 2004). I even have the rare and sought-after V8 owners handbook, the Repair Operation Manual Supplement and the Series 111 owners manual. I hope it goes to a fellow enthusiast who will get as much fun as I have had with it. Keen for prospective purchasers to view the vehicle, please contact me to arrange.
