Land Rover Series 3
1977 Land Rover Series 3 Project. I bought this Land Rover just over 3 years ago and while a lot of work has been done to it I can no longer afford the time to work on it and haven't really worked on it for 12 months. It comes with a truck cab.
I don't have a huge amount of background history, the previous owner told me it was a former RAF Land Rover although no evidence to prove either way. I've been unable to get the engine started, it's had new timing belt, fuel pump, head gasket and push rods. It will turn over but wont kick into life. I stripped the vehicle down to the chassis, rubbed down the chassis, it's had various patch work done in the past but overall solid.
Gave it a coat of red oxide and two coats of black chassis paint. Solid Chassis - various patches but overall solid. Bulkhead requires repairs - foot wells are in good condition but some patches under the bonnet line that could do with repair. Fuel tank has become porous and leaks fuel.
New hub bearings fitted all round. New clutch plate fitted - AP Driveline (FRC2297G). New clutch cover fitted - AP Driveline (576557G). New clutch release bearing fitted - NSK (FTC5200G).
Shock Absorbers fitted to front (RTC4230). Shock Absorbers fitted to rear (RTC4232). New Swivel Housing & Bearings on both front corners (DA3181). New Glow Plugs fitted (ERC8450). New Timing Belt fitted (ETC7333). All new pushrods fitted (546799). New Head Gasket fitted - Payen (STC1562G). New Fuel Pump fitted (STC1190). New Headlights fitted (not wired to harness). Front Marker Lights fitted (not wired to harness). Indicator Lights fitted (not wired to harness).Brake Lights fitted (not wired to harness). Brake Hose (RTC3386 & RTC5903) fitted.
New Parts Supplied But Not Fitted. Clutch Master Cylinder - Lucas TRW (550732G) - it's fitted to pedal housing but pipe work not done. Clutch Slave Cylinder - Lucas TRW (591231G).Brake Master Cylinder - Lucas TRW (90569126G) - it's fitted to pedal housing but pipe work not done. New Door Tops Left & Right Unglazed (2005R & 2005L) - Glass from old doors included. Door Top Glazing Kit (LR34A). Autosparks rear wiring harness, attached to chassis but not fitted.
Various other parts supplied by previous owner. Also comes with a truck cab, a bit battered but usable. I have receipts to support all the aforementioned parts. I also have lots of receipts from the previous owner. The asking price covers all my material costs and doesn't account for the countless hours of work done on the vehicle.
