Land Rover Series 3 1982. I've owned and used this for just over two years, upgrading and restoring as a running project. It's been very reliable and fun to drive, the rear canvas opens easily I've fitted hooks on the windscreen frame to hook the back on so it sits overhead when open, see photo, I found rolling it up by yourself a pain. And door tops come off for open motoring with sun shade from the roof. I need a vehicle that performs better on the motorway as a daily driver, it will sit a 60 (on the flat) but don't expect to talk to your passengers.Mileage will go up slightly as it's still in daily use. Engine is original and runs well having been upgraded by a previous owner with an ACR stage 1 cylinder head, Webber carb, stainless steel exhaust, electronic points and LPG conversion. Also fitted by the previous owner are range rover diffs, LED indicators and tail lights, new brake shoes, cylinders and braided hoses, front swivels and engine crank seal upgrade and sump powder coated. It also has a Galvanised chassis fitted and painted in places, a few years ago by the looks of it but its still very solid.
LPG conversion with tank behind cab, serviced and emissions set-up 21/05/2018 prior to MOT on 23/05/2018. Work done since I've owner it. New doors and door tops with new seals, locks and hinges 2017 - doors and wings painted off the car, rear wings and bulkhead also sprayed. New footwells and bulkhead corners welded in 2017. New Kumho Road Venture MT tyres 2017 which are great, only used on road.
New Bikini cab 2017 on a modified roof frame. Phenolic plywood deck fitted over rear that lifts off easily but makes rear storage secure. New Exmoor Trim door cards 2017. New Galvanised swing away spare wheel carrier.
New Rear hub seals fitted. New seat belts, middle seat is four point harness. New head unit and speakers. New clutch master cylinder and pedal box refurbished.
New door seals and vent flap seals. Dashboard has been stripped of the cracked plastic, rubbed down and painted body colour, not original but in my opinion looks better, closer to a series 2. Gauges have been fitted to fill in holes, Tacho works and volt gauge but oil pressure and temp do not, although they all light up. I've probably missed loads off the list, there are thousands of pounds of receipts going back to 1993 and old MOTs. The only niggle is a worn synchro dropping from 4th to 3rd, easily overcome when you learn the knack.
The speedo also reads 10+ mph out due to diffs and tyres! Welcome to come and view, located Wirral area.
