I have owned her for about 7 years, she was originally fitted with a petrol engine. I changed the engine and fitted a Discovery 200 TDI out of a previous landrover that I had that was written off. The dicvovery engine had only done around 50,000 miles when I bought it as it was used in a disco to launch boats and the disco was scrapped due to rot. The engine starts almost instantaneously every time without the use of the heater plugs, even in winter.

The engine is fiited with its Turbo and intercooler, a new to me discovery radiator and a Kenlow fan. The chap I bought her off had rebuilt her on a galvanised chassi and parabolic springs.

As you can see in the pictures she is fitted with a working capstan winch mated up to the 200 TDI. The rope in the picture holds it out of drive, as somebody stole the lever and I haven't got around to making another.

All the cappings on the rear tub where re galvanised by the previous owner. As you can see in the picture, the centre part of the windsreen was removed by the previous owner and regalvanised. I have an original windsreen - I will be chucking it in with the sale. The Safari roof is good and straight and all the vents work; it even has the original head lining in. I replaced the door cards with after market.

Fibre glass ones so they are nice and easy to wipe down. The axles are fitted with Range Rover ratio diffs and free wheeling hubs on the front, I have also up graded the brakes to late series three long wheel base so she stops well. She is fitted in the front with checker plate pattern High back seats and I changed the seatbelts and put modern inertia ones in and replaced the worn lap belts it had. There is also a galvanised bull bar with spotlights in and I have the proper station wagon rear side panels with sliding windows in that the last owner gave me. I didn't fit them as I used to keep kit in the back. The Bulkhead is beyond repair and it is also out of a six cylinder model so not original. With the sale of the landrover I will be including a replacemnt bulkhead that came from an ex military series three (1983) the replacemt bulk head is in very good condition and would be perfect for having galvanised. I have used this landrover for work in my previous job working in forestry but no heavy off road use, she was regularly serviced. I used to do regular trips to the Lakes in her and she has taken me and my family on holidays to Scotland. I also own a forward control so my commitments are split. She has been stored under the car port now for two years with my hoping that I will get time to re-build her but something always seems to get in the way. As you can appreciate I have tried to describe her fairly, she is a project, but that said, the basis for a very good rebuild as all the parts are here to put her back to her former glory.
