It was re-commissioned during 2016/2017 and I have had my fun with it driving around with no roof or doors but I now need the storage space and so it has to go. The photographs have been kind to it. It has battle scars, the worst of which I have shown in the photos, is on the passenger door. It has taken many years to earn those scars and I do not believe I should just take them out. It is brush painted in army sand colour, and has been fitted with a brand new canvas roof. The roof has not been out on the road and the rear window has not been rolled or folded. The vehicle starts, runs, drives and stops. I do not know if it has ever been converted to unleaded, and so I use the lead replacement additive.

The tyres have a lot of tread left, but if I was to keep the vehicle then I would be changing them as it does like to wander around on the road, particularly over 40+ mph. It also has a rattle over bumps which I believe are the front bushes in the rear springs, (need to be changed), and 2nd gear is stiff in and out.

Again, if I were to keep it then I would examine the selector shafts on the top of the gearbox. Also, the fuel gauge does not work. I don't know why! Lots of new parts during re-commissioning (2016/17) (all receipts can be included with the car). New carburettor, both propshafts, distributor, points, leads, plugs, fanbelt, front brake shoes, front brake slave cylinders, clutch slave and master cylinders, railko pins, bushes and bearings, swivel hub seals, front wheel bearings, new lower steering box, all track rod ends replaced, clutch, complete exhaust, 4 x shock absorbers, seats and seat belts, steering column bearing, crankshaft main bearing seal (which was sourced via Dunsfold Land Rover, not a cheap part) front bumper, ignition switch and fuse box. It is not pristine and it does not have aircon or cruise control!

It can be used as it is or further improved by the new owner. It does not have military numbers, both the chassis and the engine are'civilian' 901 suffix numbers.

This is a fun toy and it is brilliant in the snow and the mud, especially when running it without doors and roof! Woolly hat and sunglasses are not included in the sale.
