Hi this is my 2.25 petrol land rover series 3, I have had it nearly 5 years. I love old land rovers and have owned three before this one. I know how to spot a good one.

I looked at many before finding this and bought it as soon as I saw it in person. It came from a fantastic guy who himself had it for 10 years, he was a classic car nut who lived near Silverstone and had a barn conversion (with other classic cars inside) to die for. I have a huge history file with details of all its previous owners. It was supplied new by Hartwells of Bath to a lady in Gloucester, then to a farm in Chippenham, then Bristol (I traced the owner and he told me he used to go pot holing in it), then it went to Surrey (the owners children called it'Hump a dump' because it bounced them about in the back going across fields), then it spent time on a little airfield in Newbury (see hitches on the front bumper), then its headed to where I came across it in Berkshire. It is in its original pastel green, all engine numbers/vin numbers match as originally supplied all those years ago. Matching set of tyres, original petrol engine which had an unleaded head fitted in the 80's (garage invoice to prove). It has a fairey overdrive fitted (that is quiet and works perfectly), excellent gearbox that works a treat (no jumping out of gear or anything like that). It sails through every MOT without any advisories and every time its on the ramps they comment just how superb it is underneath. It was put onto a Marsland heavy duty gavanised chassis in 2003/2004, the original bulkhead was sent off to be galvanised at the same time and it was all put back together with new bolts/springs/seals/bushes/new petrol tank/ brake drums/brake pipes etc etc, all waxoiled in other words. There is NO rust or rot anywhere, the bulkhead is mint, the interior is original and lovely and everything works.

I have quite a few spares to go with it including a lovely matching hard top and full length rear door. It starts first time every time, no smoke, no rattles, ticks over as sweet as a nut and pulls well. Proper original zenith carb on it.

All the oils in the axles, swivels, gearbox, engine are clean and fresh. Its been lovingly serviced and wants for nothing. It will stand any inspection. It lives in the garage and was garaged for the 10 years before me (so that's 15 years undercover). I Don't use it in bad weather which might sound backwards but its too nice for that.

It has a hand throttle on the bulkhead which is really handy. I gather it will be MOT exempt next year (albeit I would get it done anyway regardless for peace of mind). Its not a thrown together quick resto to turn a profit, this is a genuinely cared for car with superb history. These engines will do 250,000 if looked after properly.

I will try to add a few pictures of the underside and engine bay this afternoon. NO CALLS after 9pm will be answered.
