Land Rover Series 3, SWB, 88, Tax Exempt, 1977

  

This Land Rover is in need of a full restoration as it has not been on the road for several years and does not have an M. As you can see from the pictures the body work is generally straight but not perfect, the original paint colour was Marine blue but has been hand painted red at some time, both door tops are rusty and will need replacing, the bulkhead is in fairly good condition but does require repairs to the top corners and foot wells, the chassis needs a reasonable amount of welding but is defiantly saveable, rear cross member needs replacing, dumb irons need patches and so does the middle cross member, there may also be a few other patches required.

Engine is the 2.25 petrol which starts and runs, sounds good and doesn't appear to smoke, the front crank oil seal will need replacing as it has properly dried up and leaks, the clutch works and the gearbox selects gears but has only been driven around my driveway, brakes not working so will need looking at, fuel tank leaks so will need replacing and electrics are untested. Battery not included but can be used for loading. This Land Rover is ideal for a restoration, it is complete and unmolested, the V5 is present and in my name. Vehicle located in Surrey KT10 area and will need to be trailered away. Viewing is always recommended, I have been as honest as possible but this is only my opinion and yours may differ.
