Series 3 Land Rover 1971 Part Refurbished, Fairy Overdrive, Lots of Spares

  
Series 3 Land Rover from 1971. Converted from petrol to 5 main bearing 2.25 diesel in 2001, fitted with 7.50 tyres and a genuine, fully functioning Fairey overdrive. Have undertaken some restoration in last couple of years, full list below. Has rarely failed MOT due to serious fault, usually something minor, irritating and easy to fix. Replaced in the last 1000 miles five or so years...

Vehicle rewired and every single electrical component replaced (aside from the instrument panel; they're like hens teeth), including the battery, alternator and starter motor, rear fog lamps added, trailer socket fitted and hazard warning circuit fitted. Rebuilt Series 2 front panel wired with additional driving lamps. Refurbished or replaced and painted all outer body panels (not a professional/factory finish, but new quality paint in minimum 2 coats).

New oil, oil filter, fuel filter and air filter cleaned. Chequerplate door liners and tub liner fitted.

Replaced exhaust along with all exhaust, manifold and engine gaskets. Things that may need some attention. Fuel timing issue causing non-runner status (retarded injection, light grey smoke, some exhaust chuff, may tinker with to get running).

Suspension sagging on drivers side but easily fixable (see extras below). Chassis may need some welding near the rear crossmember (otherwise solid; never caused an MOT failure or advisory, steamed cleaned and waxoyl-ed 2008). Bulkhead has issues; side pillars are rotten, and footwells both need replacing.

All required parts supplied (see below). Myriad extras included, not limited to.

DIY bikini top (few holes but keeps the rain off on a warm day). Replacement bulkhead panels (footwells, side pillars, chassis brackets). 4 near-new parabolic springs (may even have some polybushes somewhere). Selectro free-wheel hubs (one has broken spring, but both are otherwise in good nick and serviceable).

Some documentation (lots of work done myself, so very few invoices). This Land Rover has been part of my life for the last ten years, and I'll be very sorry to see it go.

There have been some brilliant memories, and a lot of swearing. Life has an annoying habit of getting the the way like that. She needs a nice home where she'll be looked after. I'd hate to see her broken up or modified beyond recognition.

She's in a good condition for her age, and I know what she's worth; no silly offers or tyre kickers will be entertained.
