Time wasters and dreamers, please move on...... It is very seldom these days for a genuinely undiscovered 80 to enter the marketplace, especially one still retaining its original Registration AND Registration Book! JVJ995 was first registered to Ellis Motors in Hereford, and then had a further 3 Herefordshire owners until leaving the County in 2001. It was then briefly owned by a Gentleman in Yate near Bristol for 2 years, before taking up residency in Wotton Under Edge in Gloucestershire with its current registered keeper who has owned her since 2003.

She was believe it or not his Daily Drive up until 2013! The Land Rover was featured on page 24 of John Christopher's book "Land Rovers a Pocket History" - Amberley Books ISBN 978-1-84868-972-5. In his early days of ownership, the current keeper unfortunately for some did the unthinkable - changed the engine! He did this for personal reasons enabling him to keep up with modern day traffic and reduce running costs but the result being that the heart of JVJ995 is now a Perkins Prima Turbo Diesel (used in Austin Montego's amongst other applications).

She is registered as Heavy Oil on the V5 and has also had the engine number changed to that on the current unit. Whichever route you choose to take with the truck, it is currently in a running state and with some minor DIY mechanics mainly to the brakes and a brave constitution you COULD be back on the road tomorrow! You wouldn't actually even need to go for an MOT although most insurers would rather you did!!! Another enhancement you will probably of noticed in the photographs is the addition of an Overdrive. The exterior as you can see is........

Amazing Patina and completely untouched. The red paint on the wing was spilt when it was sat in storage! Even down to the hood and the door tops she IS complete.

The interior has remained largely original bar the Defender front seats. There are some holes in the rear tub floor, and although the bulkhead is overall very good it would want some minor fabrication to get it perfect should you go down the restoration route. The Chassis for a 1952 Land Rover is brilliant! It has had some minimal welding, but I have seen 2004 Defenders with worse!

The rear cross member would benefit from being replaced, although you could quite easily repair it with an afternoons fabricating. Outriggers etc and overall it is very good. I have tried to be as honest and literal as possible describing this Land Rover, but due to its very nature of what it is you would probably benefit from giving me a call to talk you through it all if you are genuinely interested.

It is not as straight forward to describe as a modern vehicle! It will realistically be bought by someone looking to restore it, but it could equally be put back in to service exactly as it stands with some basic DIY mechanics. IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING THAT THE LAND ROVER WILL NEED TO BE COLLECTED ON A TRAILER AS IT WOULD NOT BE SAFE TO DRIVE ON THE ROAD YET WITHOUT THE BRAKES BEING LOOKED AT. THE PEDAL IS VERY HARD. I think this covers everything, but do of course feel free to get in touch with any queries you might have.

We are based just outside the market town of Bromyard in HEREFORDSHIRE, not Hertfordshire. My mobile is 07734 201 338, or alternatively on 01568 610 058. Thanks for looking, and Good Luck!
