1961 Land Rover Series 2. Sensible offers invited

  
Only 1 previous registered owner. This is it's history as we were told. This Landy was in the same family from new.

It was passed from father to son, and has lived on a farm for most of it's life so far. It was kept under cover when not in use and was well looked after. It had to be registered at that stage as it appears never to have been registered. The actual age was confirmed through the DVLA and the Series 2 club. I have the paperwork for all that.

It has fairly recently been restored by the PO to a good standard. We bought it about a year ago. It is one of the last Series 2 made, with an original chassis number 14110330. The chassis and bulkhead are very good.

The underneath is very good overall. It is a really solid vehicle. There is a recently new Exmoor rag top. New set of Exmoor bench seats still in the box included.

The tyres, paint and seats are all good. The original engine has been replaced with a 2.5 NA diesel.

It is a really sweet running engine. Starts, runs and drives well.

It stops well too as the brakes were recently overhauled - so new shoes all round and brake cylinders. I had to do a little balancing on the cam adjusters after the MOT, just done. Rocky Mountain transfer box filler and dipstick fitted. This makes checking and topping up the transfer box oil much easier.

It is stored under a Stormforce cover when not in use. There are some spares too. The usual dings and dents on a 50+ year old! It is my son's and is a very reluctant sale. He has not got time to look after this and his Moggy Minor now. This is a really good Landy that needs a new home. Please ask if you want any more details or pics.
