I will start off with saying "Miles for smiles" this is the greatest fun you can have with your clothes on! When you turn the key the exhaust note is gorgeous, it sounds stunning! Driving down the road who needs a stereo, the sound of the lovely V8 and the engine note is simply the best soundtrack ever! This is a very genuine and even more so very reluctant sale, I don't want to sell this but I have to as in all reality I cant drive it (I will explain below). Its a 1965 Series 11a SWB 88" Station Wagon, with 7 seats or 6 if you put the cubby box in (upto you) It has the proper Series 11a front with the lights inside the wings and this panel is in the right place those in the know will realise this isn't usual for a 2a with a V8 in it, Oh yes did I mention under the bonnet Sits a "3900cc / 3.9 Litre EFi Range Rover Engine coupled to the legendary Series 11a gearbox, (these gearboxes are renown for their ability to take whatever is thrown at them). The engine has been properly fitted to retain the original Series 2a front, infact from the outside you wouldn't know it had ever been converted. It has a electronic fan to aid the cooling and it keeps very cool there are No issues here at all, it starts, runs and drives exactly as it should and would. It did have an overdrive fitted this was removed and Range Rover Diffs fitted that give it a great turn of speed, in fairness it will surprise you, You can get up to 70 mph if you want and beyond you wouldn't see a 2.2 petrol doing this without being deaf. MPG with the Diffs fitted your looking at 18-19 mpg in reality which for a V8 series isnt bad! It has a straight through pipe apart from one back silencer, the exhaust note is lovely, the burble to die for. Even writing this I know I'm never going to get chance to drive / own one again. Inside its has Land Rover intended, the original dashboard has been retained, still has the original push button start, now has a kill switch which kills all the electrics, otherwise its has Maurice Wilks intended.

Just had a few extra gauges fitted such as AMP's and a REV counter, but all very tasteful. It has the full 7 seats (original) the centre one is in the back (removed) to fit a cubby box in the middle seat, so it has the two bench seats in the back.

It sits currently on 8 Spoke wheels and brand new off road tyres (look at the pictures, they are brand new) the original 5 steel wheels are also included with the Landy. It has a bonnet mounted spare kit, no wheel on there but could soon be added. Nice black and silver number plates and the proper wing mirrors fitted. Also it has front free wheeling hubs fitted and fully working, as is the entire 4 wheel drive system.

Most importantly it has a FULL MOT, it passed its MOT without one advisory, 100% fine this test took place at a Land Rover specialist garage SO that proves there are NO issues whatsoever. The chassis is rock solid (hence it passed the MOT so well) and the bulkhead is again fine, the vents both open on the front as they should (not sealed up like some). The Landy drives as a 1965 Land Rover should and behaves perfectly, always starts and has been a pleasure to own. These Classic Land Rovers are really rocketing up in value, This is the one to have, why have a 2286cc petrol engine or a rattly diesel that will do possibly less mpg, when you can have a lovely burbling smooth V8 under your bonnet and be getting equal if not better miles to gallon, do the sums? To the reason for the sale as above I have a replacement ankle following an accident and before my accident I had a Series 11a, that being one of a long line of Landy's, I had to sell it back then as I couldn't drive it due to the injury.

During the time I was ill and under rehabilitation I dreamt of again having a Land Rover hopeful I would be able to manage it. Now some years later I found the one I truly wanted and dreamt off, after looking plenty of dogs, I was hopeful my ankle would be up to it, and in reality its not! This is no sob story its a fact.
