1971 Land Rover series 3 109 Carawagon 4 berth camper

  

Much loved and sympathetically restored 1971 Series 3 109 Carawagon 4 berth. We bought her 8 years ago and started the rebuild 4 years ago finishing last year. Most of the work was carried out by our trusted local garage/restoration specialist. Although not a nut and bolt restoration there are not many parts that we havent replaced or rebuilt! 1 We have lost her dry winter barn storage.

2 Working 6 days a week. 3 Recently rescued 2 dogs that dont travel well! 4 Need to start restoration of my late fathers 2 door Range Rover.

This all means that we are not using her as much as we should which is a real shame but if she doesnt sell we will not be too disappointed. 200 tdi fitted by previous owner (1991 Discovery 99k miles). New timing belt/water pump - less than 400 miles ago.

New Optima red top battery. Starts instantly even when left. Lovely original Series gearbox (rebuilt by previous owner). Fitted with quiet/smooth overdrive and synchro gears selector conversion.

M A P freewheeling hubs. New uj joints/ track rod etc. New steering damper/ relay/refurb steering box. Solid original chassis - hammerited then Dinytroled in and out (had 1 new outrigger and a couple of small patches welded) all other new outriggers will be included.

New rear cross member a few years ago. Fully resprayed in pastel green and limestone. Full rebuild to elevating roof including new wood/ hinges and correct seals. All new doors fitted including glass, locks, handles, hinges, door pillars and seals.

Door frames all wax oiled. New period pressed metal number plates. 5 new professionally colour coded Wolf wheels fitted with Continental AT tyres, done less than 250 miles. (spare not fitted to bonnet at present). Fully sound proofed - accoustic foam and automotive carpet.

Original bench seat converts to double bed. 2 roof bunks as new. Original Formica covered units with pull out table conversion. Stainless steel water tank/ new gas bottle and original pump action water tap. New leisure battery-powering the interior LED light and 2 discreetly fitted power sockets.

Brand new electric cool box included. New Land Rover themed curtains on original runners and tracks. Original and working rear door mounted Dudley gas cooker and grill.

Opening rear windows fitted with fly screens. Original pull out rear awning frame with ultra rare original rear awning in as new condition - roll up sides/windows. This transforms the Carawagon when camping - takes only a couple of minutes to erect. Please no time wasters/ dreamers or scammers.
