1972 Land Rover Marshall Ambulance. The Series 2a 109 started its life as a military Ambulance and was originally converted by Marshalls of Cambridge. Professionally converted to a Daihatsu diesel which really suits the vehicle, this has also been correctly registered as 2.8 Diesel on the V5. Not only is it extremely reliable but also economical.

The gearing is also spot on and can comfortably cruise long distances at a decent speed with ease. This makes it very usable either for events, general use or possible camper conversion.

All is standard including heater ducts which supply warm air to the rear of the vehicle, t. His would have had two mattresses, one each side to collect the wounded. Fitted out nicely with ply lined sides which has only slightly warped in places and tinted glass windows. Access to the rear is via steps which fold down to enable easy access. The Cab is as per military spec with all the usual Series 2 dials and clocks which all work correctly. Seats are good and comfy. The original military chassis plate is intact and the lights still use the military switches. There is also two fuel tanks. Chassis is good and solid (see photo's) as is the bulkhead, A pillars and door tops with rust on the bottom of drivers door, passenger door bottom fine. Engine is starts with ease first time every time and is smooth and quiet.

All gears work well with no nasty crunches and brakes are servo assisted and work well. Four excellent tyres with spare in the roof. There are two storage boxes which open across the vehicle which hold a ladder. This is used to enable access to items stored on the roof.

There is an detachable tow bar also fitted with plug for lights. The exterior is painted in Limestone and is generally good see photo's with slight pealing here and there and a slight dent in passenger wing but is generally very presentable.

Mot till 6th May 2017 No advisories and as you can see by the photo's this has been a well maintained Land Rover which will last. A very usable vehicle which is great on a run and being a Land Rover, will not depreciate. Viewing welcome at CO9 Halstead area.
