New exhaust and new battery. Brake lines upgraded to copper where needed. There are a couple of jobs that need doing -electrically 1. The sender unit in the tank needs replacing (the fuel gauge doesn't work) 2.
The heater is plumbed in but not wired in, 3. It needs a new washer bottle (I've lost the old one) and mechanically the old overdrive has been removed as it was broken sothe car runs out of revs at 45mph (ie nothing is wrong it's just the original gearing). So it runs and drives very well (for a 40 year old Land Rover).
It starts instantly with only the most brief puff of smoke (1/2 a second). 3 previous owners - I've had her for 18 months during which time the restoration has taken place mainly by a local mechanic working from home with 12 landrovers in his own front garden!
The previous owner had her since 1983. In fully professionally restored condition these sell for a fortune, this one is in very good honest order but it's not pristine, neither is the start price reflecting a brand new museum exhibit! Spend a weekend with the T cut to get a fab shine- its had 2 full coats of acrylic so plenty of paint to get a decent shine on.The car is in Surbiton in Surrey, I won't take less than the start price I'm afraid! Must be collected within 7 days of close evenings or weekend. Good question- and its the usual answer- another landrover has turned up!
