This is a largely unrestored and original series 3 it has been well looked after but isn't a recent restoration or showpiece with a huge price tag either. It is an original genuine series with a nice age worn feel to it.
It has had since the first pictures were taken a fresh coat of Bronze green paint with a satin finish to retain the patina of age look. The satin finish was decided as a glossy bronze green would have looked in my opinion too shiny and new. The roof has not been touched and deemed not necessary as the aged look really looks quite special.
Also importantly I think, all the galvanised cappings have not been painted over they can be of course but I think they look better as original. Pictures have now been added of the new paint job. It has a lovely tight and good running engine with no smoke and it runs very. The Zenith carb is fairly new and has been recently cleaned and set which gives plenty of response at the throttle. It will happily cruise at 60 all day but is happier at a steady 50MPH.
There is a little grating when engaging 3rd and fourth gear but this is eliminated by double de clutching. This job is not at all necessary as correct gear changing eliminates any problems. There is an MOT until September 2019 and only one advisory on the last MOT of a slight oil leak what a surprise on a Landy!!
I beleive this has been fixed when the spin on oil filter was added. It has a new starter motor, new starter solenoid. It also has had a spin on oil filter adaptor fitted making oil changes easy. The old glass WIPAC headlamps are available if needed as the new halogen headlamps are not everyone's cup of tea. It has a brand new'electronic' distributor so no points to adjust and the timing keeps spot on. New'Exmoor trim' front seat pads and rear seat frames and pads, rear view mirror, wing and door mirrors. New headlights, indicators, brake lights, side lights, fog light and reversing light. New battery and battery tray clamps, swivel housings with one shot grease, brake shoes, hand brake shoes, some brake lines, rocker box cover gasket, air intake hose, sump gasket. New oil in the engine, gearbox, transfer box and axles with new seals installed as required. Tow bar fitted with electrics (unchecked). The bodywork panels are lovely and straight with no dents. The interior upholstery is in excellent condition and it is fitted with a useful cubby section between the seats.A Third seat can be fitted in-between the two front seats if necessary. Shows hat it has only covered around 7000 miles 13years. She is a lovely usable solid car which would form the basis of an ongoing restoration, the all important chassis has been repaired in a couple of places and could do with a paint up. This was going to be the next task and indeed specialist Zinc Rich oxide and chassis paint is included in the sale along with two new rear tub supports which will need replacing.
There is a lot of paperwork and receopts paperwork and previous MOT. It comes with the original instruction manual and a workshop manual, V5 is present and in my name it shows 6 former keepers. Unfortunately I no longer have the time to continue with the small amount of work remaining and have to offer her for sale. She is entirely roadworthy looks the part and can be a daily usable vehicle.
