Unfortunately, the previous owner told me she was 100% original, only to find out her 2.6L 6-CYL engine had been swapped for a more practical 4-CYL Diesel. I don't know much more about her mechanical history, other than I can't import her to the US with the current configuration. I had been looking around to get a swap done back to the 2.6L, but haven't had enough time to get that part done. Man, I would love it if someone read this and said, Hey, I've got an old block laying around, I'll do the swap!
So, I'm listing her to see if I can send her on to a new UK owner to help finish up the rest of her glory years. Not sure if that's true or not, but he's been a good fella to store her for about a year, so I don't really have reason to believe otherwise. Here's what I do know about her. New blue paint (roof is still with a natural patina). Doors are in fair condition, with surface rust (and a new passenger door).Clear V5C (in my name). Bulkhead and chassis seem to be solid (have a video walk around). Doesn't stop with the key (due to the fuel pump issue with the petrol to diesel).
69,100 miles on the body. She's currently located in Woodbridge, UK for those who want to take a look. I can try to make an arrangement.
Mostly, I just want her to go to a good new home! The item "Land Rover 109 Series 3 Safari 1978" is in sale since Monday, November 5, 2018.
