As she is over fifty years old (1968) she is MOT exempted, but of course still needs to be road worthy! It spent its working life on the local cider apple farm with a flat wooden rear platform to carry crates of apples for pressing into delicious Devon cider. I brought it from our local charcoal maker who used it to collect wood in the forest, so that is why not so many road miles. It has lived its life with in a fifty mile radius of me in Devon.
The rear cross member is in need of replacement, also in my opinion, Im not a welder so unable to fix it myself. Four good traction 7.50x16 tyres (spare not so good). New glow plugs and service a year ago, under forty miles ago.
There is an oil leak from slump (a new unfitted gasket seal is included in the spares). There is a box of spares bits and bobs, new leaf spring, (one has been recently fitted), a couple of new shock absorbers, a prop-shaft, and various things. I was going to do it up but, I now realise I do not have the expertise to bring it all up to the mark it deserves.
The brakes now need bleeding, and at present it wont start as the starter motor is stuck but will try and free it before the sale. It will need to be collected on a trailer or transporter.
Ill add a few more photos when there is no more activity in the wasp nest in the well of the spare wheel! The item "Land Rover 2a Series 109 1968" is in sale since Saturday, August 3, 2019.
