Land Rover Discovery Series 2 TD5
Land Rover Discovery TD5 S, Series 2, 1999, for sale for spares/repair due to MOT failure in Jan 2019 (rusted chassis). This has been the most reliable car I have owned. It has been my main vehicle for five years, commuting to work every day and used for adventures at home and abroad. Rust is around the suspension points and tow bar fixing points.
All electrics are fine with no fault warning lamps showing on dash. All door locks are fully functional, key fob operates CL, etc. One of the keys was new a year ago.
The rear door hinges have dropped so could do with adjustment to make closing it easier. I fitted the tow bar but car has never been used for towing. Engine starts first time every time, no need to wait for plugs to warm up, does not burn oil, no noticeable smoke when accelerating hard. Rear tyres are all-terrain with plenty of tread. Front tyres are road with a little tread. Spare is AT with plenty of tread. New windscreen wipers fitted for MOT dammit! Last year's MOT stated rust as the only advisory issue. Five seats - All seats are in excellent condition. I removed the rear seats/head restraints for extra payload space so they are loose in the back. A torx driver is all you need to refit them. Some minor dents in the bodywork as you might expect for a car of this age. I have SORNed the vehicle so whilst the vehicle is driveable it is not road legal now.
