This listing is for a 1969'G Reg' Land Rover Lightweight Air Portable. Offered as shown here as a restoration project , is a genuine Series 2A Lightweight'Air Portable' featuring'matching numbers' stamps/data plates. Complete with V5c, taxation class is'Historic Vehicle', registered in my name and currently on SORN. The vehicle has been further dismantled into its main components and is now offered in'flat pack' form, ready for restoration and recommissioning as required. Some work has been completed on the chassis including a new'military' rear cross member but there is still work to do on the chassis - significantly however, the original VIN stamp is still present and visible.

The parts shown on the vehicle in image 1 should still be present here, however some parts may have since been used elsewhere. Parts not shown in image 1 should be assumed not to be included. The images provided are a few years old and are for reference only, I will gather together all the components included for potential purchasers to view, I may be able to assist with some missing items by separate negotiation. Little point in entering into details about components and condition, the important point in undertaking a project of this nature is the rarity and originality of the vehicle. These Lightweights are becoming more popular and their limited production run means that they will always be sought after.

This one is unusual, in my opinion, in that it still has all its main components as fitted at the factory and therefore would be ideal as a truly authentic restoration, including possible export to the US. 23600402A (not unusual to find slight difference in gearbox numbers from the production line).

Military Service number was 36 FG 07. Contract WV7478 Army & Royal Marines into service 1969 (33 FG 35 to 43 FG 34).

It clearly needs work, which will not be completed in a'weekend' and will involve some expenditure but the end product - an early Lightweight Air Portable, would be well worth the effort?
