A superb example of this Cold War warrior, once used by the Royal Gurkha Rifles and one of the last built! You wont see many other Lightweights this good. A previous owner spent thousands on it and I have the receipts to prove it. The chassis is sound, having been cleaned and Waxoyled. The rear cross member has been replaced, as have some outriggers.

All body panels are straight. The 2.25 petrol engine is on the button. This vehicle has been subtly modified to suit todays driving conditions with a Fairey overdrive, unleaded cylinder head, parabolic leaf springs and freewheel front hubs. In my ownership in the last two years, I have installed a new Exmoor Trim hood, left hand petrol tank, fitted new Goodyear tyres, heavy duty battery and given it a Nato green and black paint job. I also fitted Powerspark electronic ignition which included a new distributor, plugs and leads. There are seven seats (three in front and four in back). It has Nato tow hitch and plug. The MoT lasts until March 20, 2020. The odometer reads less than 37,000 miles. There is no way to prove this is genuine but as it spent most of its Army career either at storage depots or with the TA, it could be. The Landy comes with its Army black and white registration plates and Ill even throw in a British Army uniform!

Here are some more details. Army designation: Truck Utility Half-ton 4x4 Rover Series Three. Army reg no: 84 KB 78. 22-12-1983: Joint Support Chain (Services), Ashchurch, Glos (storage depot). 14-10-1987: Support Squadron, Royal Logistics Corps, Vehicle, General Purpose stock.

15-03-1993: 3 Battalion Royal Gurkha Rifles, Church Crookham, Hants. 23-05-1994: Support Squadron, Royal Logistics Corps, Vehicle, General Purpose stock. 11-05-1995: 2 Battalion 52nd Lowland Volunteers, Headquarters, Edinburgh.
