Land Rover Series 1 80 ENGINE 1997cc

  

Offered for sale is a 1997cc Engine for Land Rover Series 1 80. Although it will also later series 1 vehicles if you change eng. This is a 1953'361' eng.

It has been in dry storage for some time but was a runner according to p. Turns over, have removed cyl head to look inside at bores. It would probably benefit from decoke on the valves etc and run a hone down the bores for piece of mind and then new gaskets/oil etc. Is currently configured for later starter motor but will supply correct s/motor (dated 52) if you wish to revert back.

If doing so then you would need to source the earlier alloy flywheel housing. Engine is clean and appears in good order, has a Lucas c40 dynamo which appears fairly new.

Solex carb is dated LL61 so probably a service replacement back in the day. No distributor currently fitted but may have a spare to supply with engine. It will not be the early DVXh4a though. Has the Heater pipe unit to t'stat housing (tap is free turning) and one heater pipe still attached. Note: 1 bolt missing from t'stat hsg, no oil bypass filter supplied, 2 bkt bolts req.

Will req one oil pipe for filter (club sells them). Exhaust manifold (80 correct) in good condition but needs one new stud. Engine is collection only please. You can send a courier but I have no means to package it/ pallet it up or move it.
