Land Rover Series 1 80 inch One Family Owned RARE

  

Rare opportunity to acquire this one family owned vehicle. It has a long interesting history, being used for family transport, regular long journeys (in the 1950s) of 250 miles , for holidays, a trusty work horse on the family farm and teaching 3 generations on and off road driving. This Land Rover was inherited by me from my father who bought it from new and has since been given a restoration in 1998.

The rear cross member was replaced. The chassis rubbed down and painted.

The 2lt engine was not salvageable so was replaced with a 2.5lt diesel from a 1984 110. The engine starts and runs well.

The gear box works well but it has been known to jump out of reverse. The five wheels have been sand blasted and galvanized. Tyres are used but balanced.

The bulkhead needs a small amount of works as does the rear cross member. The original, very comprehensive, Land Rover Operation Manual (that was supplied with the car) and the original documents are also included. Included in the sale is the original hand throttle.
