Land Rover Series1 , Bronze green , RHD , Home Market , 88 inch. This Land Rover was built on 5th February 1958 and despatched on 24th February 1958 to Morsmith Motors Ltd , Cardiff , it was a factory fitted 2.0L Diesel corresponding to chassis number 11680.

Now in need of restoration having been stood unused for many years, the chassis is in remarkable condition for a 60 year old Land Rover but does require some work, the rear cross member needs replacing and there is one small patch required on the N/S dumb iron, the bulkhead needs repairs to all the usual places but is definitely saveable, body work is reasonable , I've seen a lot worse, paint is worn and flaking. The engine has been changed at some time and is currently fitted with a 2,1/4 petrol from a 2a, it starts and runs without and knocks or rattles but does puff a bit of smoke, it is currently running from a jerry can as the fuel tank is rusty and perforated , gearbox selects all gears and Hi/Low all work as they should, I have fitted a new clutch as the old one was slipping, drive train is untested as I have only driven it around my driveway, brakes don't work so will need recommissioning but hand brake works fine, electrics will need tidying up and looking at but lights and indicators all appear to work, Radiator will need minor repair as it leaks from the top outlet. The Land Rover will need to be registered by filling out a V55/5, the original reg was most properly transferred many years ago and is unknown, the Land Rover comes with a Heritage Certificate, its chassis plate is present and the chassis number is clearly readable on the inside of the dumb iron. I have tried to be as honest as possible with my description but this is only my opinion and yours may differ, viewing is always recommended as this is a 60 year old vehicle, any inspection is welcome.
