He bought it about 10 years ago from a person local to the area. It was driven to my grandads and parked up. It needed a bit of work so the plan was to strip it down and refurb it all. It got semi stripped down but was then left as other things got in the way. My grandad is now to old to work on it and I do not have the time so we have decided to let it go. It must have been restored years ago as it is generally in good solid condition. It has certainly been repainted. The body is not perfect by any means as it has been used well, the look it has now is nice I think, a bit of patina. The chassis is a 5711 prefix. It is a 2L petrol (5711 engine) the axles look original, 5711 is visible on the front axle.

The gearbox is from a early S2 so that is not original, it is currently sat in the back of it. The chassis and bulkhead are in generally good condition. The only place that I can see needs obvious work is the one bulkhead rigger (see picture). The other side has already been replaced but could do with a weld across the top as it must have been fitted with the floor still in.

The bulkhead is good, the footwells have been plated over but looks good enough for a mot. Pillars and tops etc very good. The clutch assembly has been dismantled but I think it is all there, I will get all the loose bits boxed up. Things that are missing are - starter motor, Dynamo and clutch pressure/friction plate.

(These got used on another LR) the rear light assembly's are in a box, not sure in what condition. It would certainly be advisable to rewire it as someone has done there own mods to it. Plus always best to have a new look anyway, fire risk etc. So all in all a fairly easy project for someone I would think.
