Land Rover Series 2 1959 4x2 Truck Cab 88

  

1959 Series 2 4x2 for sale, released from the army on 3rd December 1969 after 10 years service hence the H registration. I've owned daffodil for around 4 years and has pretty much been a daily driver as long as it wasn't a damp day (couldn't bear sticky fingers) only driven locally and only let me down with simple things like fuel pump etc. She's very well aged and rough as they come, drivers door needs a slam to close properly but will start effortlessly as long as the battery is charged... She runs a dynamo still and doesn't seem to charge the battery so once every few months I need to charge it up.

I have fitted an electric fuel pump, new one recently fitted, has a good battery, I replaced all the brakes when I bought her, all electrics work apart from one brake light and the tow socket. Pretty much standard as as she left the factory other than some brakes mods, fuel pump, carb and heavy duty steering arms.

Engine, gearbox and axles are all original with the correct blanking plate for the 4x2 set up. Chassis has been patched with new front and rear sections but all is solid. All 5 tyres very good condition with huge amounts of tread, rear tyres are 235, front are 205. Speedo doesn't work, some smoke on initial start up, tappets need setting after head gasket was replaced a few years ago.

Has lots of charactor (dents) but looks gorgeous! I did try to sell recently but changed my mind, alas I really do feel it's time to let her go.
