Land Rover Series 2 1964 ex raf

  

Here we, regrettable, have my 1964 series 2 Land Rover for sale. My plan was to restore it to its original condition and take it around the show circuit but i currently dont have the time also me and the wife have just took on a big building project. A little bit about the Land Rover.

The series 2 is believed to be ex raf first registered in 1964 I believe its earlier than this as it has some earlier features such as smaller wheel nuts off the earlier models and generally ex service vehicles would of been registered after they got de mobbed. Theres many unique features on the Land Rover including rear sockets and a convoy light underneath the rear crossmember. The Land Rovers body panels are very straight and in good useable condition. Its a 2.25 petrol. The chassis is completely gone and the bulkhead isnt much better, another bulkhead is included in the sale. The chassis number finishes with the letter D which I believe means it was built for abroad. Im let to believe it was first used in Malta I may be wrong this is just what Ive been told. Would prefer cash on collection. Ive been told by someone who knows a bit more than me about Land Rover that the roof and back door were made by a company called tickford, Im not sure if this is right but they are made from fibreglass which Ive never seen before.
