I have owned this vehicle for nearly 30 years, it's one of those projects I just never got around to. One of the last deep sill models and early alternator fitted vehicle. It should be a lights in the grille model but at some time in its life has been upgraded with latter wings and series 3 door hinges, but it is a 2a, just look at the metal dash for conformation. It has the 2.25 diesel engine, it still has the early type of clamp on the injectors, the original swan neck exhaust manifold is missing, but a latter one is included. I have never had the engine running, but it still turns over on a starting handle.Engine, gearbox and axle numbers all tally with the age of the vehicle and it has a great patina. The bulkhead is beyond saving, the chassis is in a bad way. There is perhaps a chance it could be saved by a dedicated and skilled welder, but replacement would seem a better option. Door tops will need to be replaced and all other steel work will need attention. The front axle has a Rover 4.2 diff inside, I know because I put it there when I took the standard diff out.
The back axle does not have a diff fitted, but the other 4.2 diff will be provided with it. Sadly this has got wet and the bearings will need replacement. There is no steering column/ steering box or steering wheel or alternator. Some of the offside sill panel is missing. Please check the pictures carefully as they form part of the description. I have the V5 in my name. The item "Land Rover Series 2 A" is in sale since Monday, August 31, 2020. This item is in the category "Cars, Motorcycles & Vehicles\Classic Cars\Land Rover".
