Land Rover Series 2 original 1960 vehicle

  

This is an original 1960 Series 2 Land Rover SWB hard top. It requires a full restoration which will require a chassis replacement. A lot of the body panels will need either replacing or repairing. The bulkhead has a great upper half, but an almost non-existent lower half.

So reluctantly the Land Rover has to go. Although the condition of the Land Rover could be described as'for restoration' what I liked about it was it's originality and it would appear not to have been messed about with during its life. It is certainly a genuine S2 and not a 2A or later vehicle, and has the very rare hard top without the rear vision panels. The rear upper catflap has been changed at some point.

If you are after a genuine S2 for restoration where you are going to put a lot of work into it and are happy to replace the chassis, then this could be for you. It comes with a replacement seat base. My opinion is that the rarity of S2's will make the effort worthwhile. Any questions do please ask, I have never restored a Land Rover before but I should be able to give you a sensible reply. The registration on the vehicle currently is a private plate that the last owner used, this was not part of the sale to me and the new reg is re-issued period correct'TSK' plate.
