The value of this example is its originality. Other examples are available which are on the road but they do not have this ones uniqueness. 1 previous owner from new in 1960 to 2010. It was dry stored in a barn for 30 years and then, when I acquired it in 2010, it continued to sit in a dry barn for the next 9 years. Early example with details such as Bakelite round handles to open the vents, which open fully to the horizontal, lack of side windows in rear end of hardtop etc.

And early type exhaust manifold etc. Original Land Rover bench seats in the rear still in original Elephant Hide trim. Smiths heater in the cab.

Very original condition and has not been messed about with. The Bronze green paintwork appears to be the original, with lots of scratches and dents, which suits it well! The chassis is very good and no outriggers have ever been replaced, nor need to be and the chassis has only been patched once under the front offside dumb iron.

Welding will be needed only to (1) the underside of the nearside dumb iron, 2 the rear offside spring hanger, together with (3) the dents and damage to the rear cross member, which is shown in the photographs. The rear cross member is not rusted out and therefore does not need replacing, merely repairing to keep it original.

It has not been run for some years however, the last owner said it ran well and only parked it up when the petrol prices went up in the 1970s. Price List & Optional Equipment list Feb 1960. It is stored a secure building at a private property with locked gates. Located near Sherborne in North Dorset.
