Up for sale is my 1966 Land Rover series 2a which has undergone a lot of work to get back on the road which will be listed below. Its a 1966 model and is blue in colour. Its not the best paint job by any stretch of the imagination but it was purple before and thats just not my colour. Has a 2.5 n/a engine fitted from an early 90/110.
Has freewheeling hubs fitted and working as they should. The interior could do with some work as its a bit of a mixture of early and late series 2a stuff. Its also a tad rough around the edges but is solid. Has 2 seats which are not on runners just bolted to the seat box.
Chassis has had a lot of welding in the past but is solid and shouldnt need work for a couple of years at least. Bulkhead is solid but tatty and rough around the edges. Has got the odd small hole around the vents. Can take photos if needed. Bodywork is relatively straight and recent respray (by myself so not the best by any stretch of the imagination) tailgate is green as havent painted it yet. Will supply same colour paint in aerosols for spraying it. New GB parabolic springs all round. New track rods and ends.
New swivel seals and bearings. New brake pipes, hoses, cylinders and shoes all round.
New clutch master and slave cylinder. New auto sparks wiring loom. All new exterior lamps (halogen headlights). New cam belt and water pump. New coolant (flushed through as well). Engine oil and filter change (flushed through as well). Whole new exhaust system (has had a bit welded in as downpipe was too short). Repainted wheels and a set of second hand 7.50/16 tube type tyres. New set of pressed number plates.New foot wells and door pillars. Other stuff which I cant remeber. V5 present and in my name. Pretty much usable depending on level of comfort you like.
Have no door seals fitted etc so quite drafty. But I have brought some door seals. Will hopefully for this weekend. Brakes my need a rebleed/adjustment after a few hundred miles.
Cash on collection from IP22 2HG or NR15 2BP. This is not a mint Land Rover. Its over 50 years old and will need work to get up to scratch. Its noisy and slow (Maxs out at 52mph but I stick to 45mph to save my ears) I use it for carting logs about and its ideal for that.
Great weekend toy or ongoing project. Only has 1 wiper blade on drivers side as struggling to find the correct fitment blade. Will upload better photos this weekend.
