I suspect a replacement ex military engine has been fitted due to the colour although I have no paperwork to back this up. She starts on the button and drives really well. The springs look pretty recent (I imagine done when the chassis was done) and the are no where near as jarring as my own 2a.
The engine pulls really well and all the work recently done on the brakes means she pulls up well. The overdrive engages smoothly and doesn't howl or grumble which is quite something. The additional lamps are not to my taste but they are excellent and considerably better than the'candles' my 2a has. Overall when I drove her I was really taken by how well she went.
The only negative is that she does come out of second gear occasionally. Surely this must be the holy grail of landies. Looks used and loved but mechanically sorted and with a solid chassis.
This could be a lovely winter project with loads of scope to improve or use and enjoy as is. I'm not interested in canvassing.
