Chassis was shot blasted then repairs with good strong patches and several coats of red oxide and hammerite. This has a series 3 bulkhead and (to be honest I don't think there are many original parts still on it as everything has been replaced / upgraded) a 2.5na engine from an early 90/110. Bulkhead is in very good condition and solid and engine runs well. Its a little smokey on start up but pulls well and will drive you to each end of the country as long as you are in no rush!!
There is a noticeable improvement on the standard 2.25. New brakes all round (shoes, drums piping). Full set of matching Michelin Latitude cross tyres on tubeless defender rims (11 in total).
Wolf seat belts front and 2 x lap belts at rear. Decent hood and optional bikini hood. Swing away rear wheel holder.Bonnet with spare wheel holder (and plain deluxe bonnet). There are many other modifications to make this a more usable vehicle including LED lights and 12v / USB sockets etc. This is in very good condition with all the hard work done.
Trailer was stripped to bare chassis, rubbed down and repainted. New tub (with no rot) with tailgate fitted. Complete rewire (to normal 12v electrics).
Water tank mounted with external tap. Leisure battery with solar charging panel.
12v / USB sockets (with voltage indicator). LED spot light and strip light. Comes with matching tyres and spare. 240v inverter (not yet hard wired in). 12v fridge / cooling box.
I put all this together so you can literally pull up at your camping spot, unhitch the trailer and have the kettle on within minutes. The 12v sockets make it easy to pump up your air beds once your tent is up. I know there are lots of things I haven't mentioned and could quite happily talk about this for hours. This is not a rivet counter special but I believe is a good usable vehicle for adventures / shows / camping or whatever you want. All the modifications have been applied to make the set up easier to live with.
It is a little noisy, it does smoke a little and drip the bit of oil, it is not fast but this will take you anywhere you want with the biggest smile on your face! As with all 60 year old Land Rovers you do need to come and look at it and have a drive. There will always be bits to tinker with but this is a good solid example that just needs loading up with your camping kit and pointing in the direction you want to go then you are on your adventures!!
