BUT, this Landy is epic and never fails to put a smile on my face and get me from A to B in style. He never lets me down and if anything has needed to be done Ive got it done at my local Series Land Rover Specialist mechanic including a new Head Gasket a year ago just in case. Im sure he say the same to everyone but he tells me he loves it too! With some of the interior creature comforts of a Series 3 i. You dont feel like youre sat on a wooden crate! Its had a series 3 face lift in the grill and bonnet etc. Major bonuses include his very solid and rust free galvanised chassis, his freewheeling front hubs and his overdrive which means he can handle modern traffic so much better than my past Landies.

Hes only done 78,000 miles! I did notice there was a slight slip in 1st so I went a little over the top and had a whole new clutch put in but I prefer to deal with things up front. Its Nato Green with contrasting cream roof and wheels, black vinyl Interior and Series 3 front seats & dash.

It has a towbar and good tyres, including one on the bonnet, where a spare should be off course! So I said I would be honest and here it is he isnt show room! Yup, he is matt NATO green and no amount of polish will make that gleam!

But thats how I like my Land Rovers! I had defender door locks fitted and now much more secure and dont suffer from the popping issue a lot of Series have but you do have to give the doors a slam to close. Probably a slight alignment would fix but who has the time? He also marks his territory with a few drops here and there but any Landy that doesnt has an owner that doesnt check its fluids religiously! Erm that really is it to be honest.

Hes an honest solid little land rover that, if treated right, really will go on and on and I SO wish that was with me. So Land Rovers are great in the winter but here comes the summer. Grab a number 13 spanner, undo a dozen bolts and go topless there is NO better feeling you can get away with in public! This is a 50 year old car so youre bound to have questions.
