This listing is for a single 2.25 Petrol Engine for Land Rover Series 2A & Others. The views of these used parts shows their general condition, the images form an important part of the description. These are the actual parts which will be supplied. There is one (1) Series 2A Engine Numbered 2514916C (see image 6) identified as a'low compression 7 : 1' 2286cc unit which replaced the Series 2 engine from around 1961 and as shown in the images 1 to 9 inclusive. Research suggests this could be from a 1963 model year vehicle. This arrived here many years ago, at that time it was fitted into a. Series 1 86 coupled to a Series 1 Gearbox. This type of conversion into Series 1 was a commonplace modification offering increased power and reliability over the 2Ltr Petrol engine fitted as standard.

The engine and gearbox were joined as one piece and has remained that way under cover. It has never been tested as the assembly never found its way back into another vehicle. The gearbox has been removed 12/11/19 to reveal clutch cover & spinner etc. The crankshaft will rotate and the dipstick reveals good clean oil in the sump.

It has a'new-ish looking' 12v dynamo which does not rotate at present. Complete with all the ancillaries as shown. Suitable for parts or to strip, inspect and recondition for your authentic Series 2A rebuild. This could also be fitted to a Series 2 or Series 1 models. Therefore serious enquiries only, view it, pay for it, pick it up, take it away!
