You are viewing a Land Rover series 2a 109 from 1966. It is in good, solid condition. I know where these rust and this one is very solid. The footwells have been repaired in the past, the chassis is solid with no rust showing. I have owned it for about 3 years. It has hardly been driven in the last two years and I'm not going to find time to get it back on the road. For the MoT I would say it needs the brakes looking at. Probably the wheel cylinders, strip and clean out drums etc.

The clutch is a bit spongey at the pedal but doesn't appear to slip. The front prop has quite a lot of play at the sliding joint and has to be replaced.

The gear box is very good, feels tight and just right. It starts with a bit of choke even after standing for a while. There is a little puff of oil smoke on start up which I assume is valve stem oil seals. I fitted a replacement Zenith carb a while ago.

It has had range rover diffs (3.54:1) fitted at some point in the past. I don't think this is ever a good idea, especially not on a 109. I'd change them to standard series 4.7:1 diffs if I was keeping the car. This is a military spec model with extended spring hangers / shackles, twin tanks with changeover tap and convoy lighting switch.

Yes, I know it has a civilian rear crossmember! Not sure if this is a replacement or original but it is in good condition. I have only ever used the right hand tank.

It is the type that you fill under the seat lots of funny looks in petrol stations! Let me know if you have any questions or want to view or discuss.
