Land Rover Series 2a / Series 11a

  

Very, very sad and reluctant sale of my beloved. Bought in 2012 off a chap who had owned her for 17 years, she has been my on/off daily drive when not in my defender. I dare say the current odometer mileage of 22,556 is probably a lie... MOT to 23rd March 2017. New rear cross member (2012).

New shocks and parabolic springs all round (2012). New universal joint bearings (2012). Converted to a canvas tilt and as such has been a great fun summer car. Runs very sweetly and stops as it should - all gears work well including low ratio with no jumping out of gear.

Odd assortment of bits including spare inner tube, wheel and tire, wiper motors, half shaft... Could be some nice stocking fillers for the Mrs come crimbo.. Chassis has had some welding and I'm sure will want more at some stage.

Foot wells have been repaired at some point and are sound, but not pretty. Someone may wish to weld in new ones properly, but it didn't massively bother me.

Rust coming through round the bulkhead vents, which really wants attention before too long. Starts on the button when cold or soon after shutting down once warm. Once hot and been left to cool, often takes a number of attempts to fire up again. Once running again though, she is as good as gold!

Seat bases need replacing - These were salvaged from a donor as the seats in it when I acquired her were tartan, non landy seats. Canvas could use a couple of small patches and re-proofing. This is a very pretty example, but by no means concourse. I would view as a good runner and would make a nice rolling restoration project.
