Land Rover Series 3 2250cc petrol engine, 3 bearing, 8:1 compression, starts & runs. Owned by myself for just under 10 years, its been stood in one garage or another for all of that time.

Engine number (prefix 902) is clearly visible, along withthe 8 on the cylinder head denoting high compression. The green paint I presume is a third party remanufacture earlier in its life. At some point its had an SU carb fitted, and it would definitely benefit from returning to something more original.

There also looks to have been a problem with one of the bolts in the thermostat housing, see pictures. Has recently had cap, rotor, leads, plugs, starter solenoid, fuel pump & coil, just to make sure it fires up easily, which it does.

The engine comes complete with all ancillaries, (not tank, battery or chassis, but everything else comes with it) and its ready to remove from the chassis. The engine starts first turn, and runs very well. Some compression tests done 12/05/21 are : Dry - Cyl 1 135, Cyl 2 133, Cyl 3 135, Cyl 4 135. Wet - Cyl 1 144, Cyl 2 140, Cyl 3 146, Cyl 4 148. There does also appear to be a small leak from the rear crankshaft oil seal.
