Land Rover Series 3, 2.25 petrol fully rebuilt

  
For sale is my much loved and excellent condition series 3 land rover, with 2.25 petrol engine. It was fully stripped down to the chassis by the previous owner and everything rebuilt (over a period of ten years) - chassis fully repaired and red oxide / black topcoat painted (very solid), bulkhead / footwells refurbished (very solid) engine fully rebuilt with unleaded cylinder head conversion , axles re-built (including very good swivel housings that actually hold EP90) steering box rebuilt, new genuine leaf springs and bushings, shocks, new seats, all door rubbers / glazing runners etc etc. The previous owner was an engineer who has had some of his rebuilds featured in Land Rover Monthly - so all done to a very good standard.

Since I've had it, I've finished off the the last few bits - fully reconditioned gearbox and transfer box from Beaumont transmission (with all new genuine suffix D innards), new heavy duty clutch, new Weber carburettor, rebuilt starter motor, rebuilt genuine original distributor, new fuel pump, new brakes all round (cylinder, drums, shoes), new front driveshaft. All in all, its in fantastic mechanical condition - built to be used and reliable. Drives exactly as it should with all gears/4x4/ hi/low working perfectly. Engine has loads of power for a series Landy! Tyres have loads of tread - mud terrain rear for great grip and all terrain front for lighter steering.

Cosmetically, it looks great - very straight and tidy but still lots like a proper Landy, gets lots of good comments. It is also rather rare as old Land Rovers go, as chassis number and engine number are original and tie up with V5. Loads of history and receipts.
