Land Rover series 3 88 county

  

Here for sale we have my very first Land rover, I have had her a little over 4 years and she has proved indispensable to me towing absolutely anything and acting as my everyday car to do a 100 mile commute to work each day. It is now only down to fault of my own that the cylinder block has now cracked beyond repair. I do have a spare cylinder block and this will be included in the sale if it sells for the right price. The roof sides are also likely be replaced if i can find some to swap them with and will probably be in better condition as I would like to retain the ones on it for my series 2. (assume it will not come with a roof therefore there is no argument but i will try and supply one).

The chassis is in very good condition for its age and is the original one from when it was built I believe. It has had the rear cross member replaced at some point in its life but it has been done to a very good standard and looks to have been done by someone with experience. There is only one very small patch repair that I can see has been done on the chassis and this is just behind the front left dumb iron. The bulk head looks to be very solid with the original foot wells and door pillars, there is some rust just starting to bubble through in the foot wells but I believe this is savable with a bit of treatment and some new paint. The bodywork is not in the greatest condition with quite a few dents and bends to the front wings, I do however think that the dents just add charter and I have seen much worse.

I have started to strip the paint off so that I could return it to its original marine blue and increase the value but have now decided that I have enough land rovers and seeing as this one is not currently usable I need to get rid of it to free up space on the driveway. Although the engine is damaged it does however still run but will make a huge mess. The gearbox is in good condition and selects all the gears as it should.

I have replaced the rear axle with a Salisbury axle as I was fed up with replacing the half shafts but it will come with the original axle as well in case you want it to be original. I believe with little work this could again be a good usable Land rover and make a very easy restoration project. Any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
